New Video: Katy Perry – ‘Daisies’

Published: Friday 15th May 2020 by Rashad

After a slew of buzz singles in the form of moderate hits ‘Never Really Over,’ ‘Small Talk,’ ‘Harleys In Hawaii,’ and ‘Never Worn White,’ Pop singer Katy Perry has unleashed the official first single from her fifth studio album.

Titled ‘Daisies,’ the tune was announced last week just days ahead of confirmation its yet-titled parent project was due to hit shelves August 14 (click here to read more about that).

A song about triumphing over trials, its lyrics beam about overcoming obstacles:

“They said I’m going nowhere / Tried to cut me out / Took those sticks and stones / Showed them I could build a house / Tell me that I’m crazy / Never let them change me / So they cover me in daisies,” she proclaims in the chorus.

    • Bogus May 15, 2020

This isn’t a country song wtf?

      • Lucy May 15, 2020

It’s not country but I know you see what he’s saying..decently gotta a sort of country vibe from this song

      • Lucy May 15, 2020

        Defiantly *

  2. Bogus May 15, 2020

This is a good single for her actually. Lyrics are decent and production is good. Her fans will be happy.

  3. Lucy May 15, 2020

I agree with the first comment on this post
Also I’m tiered of her music being so predictable..I miss the days she’s change it up all her new stuff sounds annoying and has the same sort of production idk gurl👀

  4. Kit kat May 15, 2020

    Another number one for Katy!!
    Damn katy,ari,billi,Adele and Taylor
    BEYFLOPCE who???
    Loool
The white girls are killing these flop h*** left and right in this industry

  5. Jeans May 15, 2020

I really like this song! It’s definitely ala teenage dream era type music. I just wish she would go back to black. Great song Katy!

  6. Clayne May 15, 2020

This song isn’t bad BUT it’s very Katy Perry when she was the it girl. 2008 would embrace this but at this point and time, no growth.

    • Carlitos May 15, 2020

Lmao… always talking s***. She switches it up a few years ago and everyone says to go back, then she goes back and now you say that there’s “no growth.” Unbelievable.

  7. Naldo May 15, 2020

    I love this song

  8. Clarks0o0ñ May 15, 2020

    No musical growth .
I knew this song was gonna sound like this before I even pressed play.

This girl is really nothing without dr. Luke.

    The video is awful also
    That blonde hair is satan

Katy pls call this song a buzz a single.

    • Carlitos May 15, 2020

This is growth! And you do realize that not all of her hits were produced by Dr. Luke, right?!

      • Only Facts May 15, 2020

False. Literally all of her HITS were produced by Dr Luke. Once Dr Luke left the picture, her career died…even Max Martin couldn’t help her on witness.

Katy your fan base grew up and left you a long time ago. You’re a 35 year old woman your music hasn’t grown or matured to reflect that. Her only hope are middle aged white ladies who buy albums not throw away singles. Her music needs to mature.

    • Bogus May 15, 2020

This song is about chafing your dreams tho? What do y’all want her to do? You didn’t like witness era but then she goes back to her roots and it’s still not enough

      • PinotNoir May 15, 2020

        Not CHAFING your dreams 😂

  10. Haterz+Gon‘+Hate May 15, 2020

What kind of iPhone 2 home video outtakes from the cutting room floor mess is this???? This child has lost her ear for a hit and her long dark weave for a brand rebuild. 🤦🏾‍♂️🤦🏾‍♂️🤦🏾‍♂️ Do fans even want this sound from Katy given it was not ten Lane that made her? Chillllllllle 😤

  11. NawNaw May 15, 2020

Katy, your career is in danger girl. WTF is this soft s***? Bye! Karma came and took your relevance!

  12. Only Facts May 15, 2020

The song doesn’t even make sense. So someone is an underdog and that means you cover them in daisies?? Honey, cover your career in funeral flowers because it’s dead

    • I+love+big+black+c** May 15, 2020

“Daisies symbolize innocence and purity. … In Norse mythology, the daisy is Freya’s sacred flower. Freya is the goddess of love, beauty, and fertility, and as such the daisy came by symbolize childbirth, motherhood, and new beginnings. Daisies are sometimes given to congratulate new mothers.” Only flop is so naive😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣🤣

      • Clarks0o0ñ May 15, 2020

        Drag the uncultured rat
        🤣

      • Only Facts May 15, 2020

Yeah, that still doesn’t make sense in the concept of the song. Nice try. People on YouTube in the comments say the song doesn’t make sense either. Keep begging for my attention. All you’re getting from me

      • Only Facts May 15, 2020

Clarkson, I’m not surprised that you think this is a well written song. You also stan a song with the lyrics “my oh my. Why oh why.” You’re the epitome of a simpleton. You continue begging for my attention. All you’re getting doll 😘😌

    • Bogus May 15, 2020

Maybe you need to read the lyrics and try to understand this anthem of a song…a lot of y’all claim to be music experts and know so much about these celebs and make the dumbest comments

    • D May 16, 2020

I thought she meant daisies as in ‘pushing up daisies’ (the flowers that grow on top of someone’s grave once they’re dead). i.e. She’s saying she’ll do what she’s doing until they cover her in daisies / she’s dead.

  13. Rashad May 15, 2020

This ain’t it. Never Getting Over and Harleys in Hawaii were cute pop songs. If those didn’t catch on this will go nowhere.

  14. #TheTruth May 15, 2020

Sounds like a more mature « Unconditionally ». I don’t think this song will put her back at the top of the charts. Nor bring much interest in the album.

If she had put out a song like « Never Really Over » a few years back, it would have performed better.
I think there’s just a general lack of interest at this point.

  15. Misty+Knight May 15, 2020

Similar to Gaga’s Stupid Love in that the chorus just doesn’t soar. This should be an album track and NOT a single. She needs to go back to Dr. Luke. Doja Cat is at #1 this week because of Dr. Luke and no one has flipped out.
